Welcome to Warbird Wednesday! Today, we’re visiting the AT-6D Texan with a historic and authentic WWII paint job. Heave Ho was the nose art for a T-6 that operated in the European Theater of Operations during WWII. This vintage airplane was built in Dallas, TX in 1944 and was later transitioned into a training plane. Many pilots would take flight training on T-6’s and would later graduate into other more robust fighter airplanes. For many pilots, the T-6 was their first encounter with retractable landing gear. Check out today’s video to learn more about this workhorse aircraft.
